This handbook provides basic information on the process and procedures for the Missouri WIC program as referred in policies. After typing your text, the program will search for your term and display the results. Anthropometric - This section provides guidance on anthropometric equipment purchases as well as the procedures on how to obtain and record accurate anthropometric data reflective of the participant's category.

Biochemical - This section provides guidance on biochemical criteria, such as hemoglobin testing, to screen for iron deficiency anemia. This screening, along with other medical risk criteria, is used to determine nutrition risk eligibility for the WIC program. Nutrition Assessment - This section provides guidance on the process of obtaining and evaluating information about a participant's nutrition status in order to provide the most appropriate individualized WIC services.

It can also be used to plan for continued WIC operations during emergencies or other situations of distress. The information is designed to assist Headquarters and Regional Office staff, as well as WIC state and local agency staff, in their development of an executable WIC disaster plan. Allocating Leave Time in the Online Invoicing System - USDA Food and Nutrition Services FNS provided further clarification to code staff leave expenses to a direct cost category program management, breastfeeding support, client services, and nutrition services in the same manner that each local agency staff wages are assigned.

Guide to Separation of Duties Report - The purpose of the Separation of Duties report is to ensure separation of duties is occurring at the local agency to avoid conflict of interest and to safeguard against fraud. The Separation of Duties report can be used as a tool to complete the required review. As the Separation of Duties report is run, it is designed to automatically pull all nonbreastfeeding infant certification records and a 20 percent random sampling of the remaining certification records for the days during which only 1 WIC staff person performed all eligibility and certification functions.
